Our signature leather is English Bridle Leather, a robust leather of the very best quality, produced using a vegetable tanning process using only natural products, using a preparation process that is manually intensive and is carried out by skilled professionals.

HAND COLOURED & METICULOUSLY FINISHED
Our leather is hand coloured and meticulously “finished” with an intensive process of staining and waxing which adds to the protective finish. Many coats of wax are applied to our Bridle Leather to “feed” the leather, in the same way the leather would be treated for equestrian saddles and bridles.

WAX CONDITIONING PROCESS
The wax is then left for a long time to penetrate into the leather so the leather absorbs the wax naturally. When first made, authentic English Bridle leather generates a white ‘Bloom’ on the surface of the leather which is an indication of the successful process and a true characteristic of superior quality English Bridle leather. The cause of this white coating is down to the natural waxes and oils rising to the surface of the grain.

AUTHENTIC PRECIOUS WAX ‘BLOOM’
Before sending to you, we often lightly buff the slight white coating of the precious wax polishing the cases to a high shine. If you prefer us to send the case with original, authentic Bloom ‘unbrushed’ as aficionados often tend to prefer as a signifier of authenticity and quality, please send us a separate email with your order. With use, the warmth and slight friction of skin rubbing against leather will cause the wax to penetrate deeper into the leather.

BLACK EDGING FOR A SMOOTH FINISH
Black wax edging is applied to the raw edges to finish and seal the case for longevity. The black edging is applied, heat-dried then re-applied three times for posterity.

INNER LINED WITH SOFT YELLOW SUEDE
The internal suede provides a pop of colour and is soft to touch against the eyewear.
